JOICHIRO VS. SISKO
Benjamin Lafayette Sisko is a lot of things. He’s a decorated Starfleet officer, the Emissary of the Prophets, a talented chef, and a single father. It’s the last two that link him to the jet-setting genius chef, Jōichirō Saiba. At first, they’d get on like a house on fire talking about ingredients and cooking techniques. They would trade dishes and compliment each other. After eating Joichiro’s delicacies, Sisko might go out on a limb and invite Chef Saiba to the station to open up a shop on the Promenade.
Chef Saiba would politely decline, mentioning that he has a shop back on Earth that he runs with his kid. Ben would perk right up at that. Captain Sisko loves the kids! Then Jōichirō would mention how he sent him off to cooking school and hasn’t seen or talked to him in months. He’d absent-mindedly pat his pockets as he wondered aloud when was the last time he sent Soma any money then laugh nonchalantly. And abruptly, Sisko’s smile would fade right off his face like it was never there.
